SARPCCO Games Administrative Group Virtual Meeting

SARPCCO Games is an event that connects Southern African countries in the fight against Transnational Organized Crime through sports. It is a decision that was taken by our principals in yester-years when they realized the nascent need to bring junior officers together to build networks and share best practices whilst exercising a mental and physical healthy lifestyle.

During the previous meetings of the 11th Edition SARPCCO Games in 2022, it was resolved that member countries should develop a model that will guide them on the nitty-gritty of hosting the games. Thus this virtual meeting was held on 19 April 2024.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Graphel Musamba - SARPCCO Chairperson said "It is through making our region more impactful that we can together change it and derive the best benefits, from this wide range of shared best practices and devise ways of making the Southern African Region impactful in terms of fighting crimes that are transnational in nature. In order to achieve this, there is a need to ensure that cross border networks are enhanced optimally."

"We are aware that, a lot of information on transnational crimes is still confined within national jurisdictions, this triennial gathering has proved a worthwhile platform that resonates well with our common vision for which SARPCCO Games is at the center," he added.

In conclusion, the Chairperson urged delegates to put heads together and add value to the betterment of the SARPCCO Game in years to come.
