Coffee and Learn Webinar Panelists

The Human Resources Management Directorate invited RB Harare as panelist during their Coffee and learn talks that took place virtually on 23 October 2024. The INTERPOL Regional Bureau of Harare, Regional Specialized Officer (RSO) Jeannette HAUFIKU, top-right in the screen short above,did not hesitate to participate as a representative for the Regional Bureau.

The Coffee and talk aimed at inspiring and empowering women, and promoting a culture of inclusion and respect within INTERPOL. It concentrated on providing a unique opportunity for staff to connect and network, to showcase the diverse range of skills and expertise in the Organization as well as fostering a culture of respect, appreciation, and support amongst colleagues. This conversation was an opportunity to listen to valuable contributions women make at INTERPOL and to provide a platform for them to share their stories and insights.

The webinar focused on the following key areas:

  1. Empowering Women in Law Enforcement: The discussion highlighted the importance of creating a supportive environment that encourages women to pursue careers in law enforcement. Panelists shared best practices and strategies for promoting gender equality, including mentorship and coaching programs, training initiatives, and policies that support work-life balance.

  2. Breaking Down Barriers: The conversation addressed the challenges faced by women in law enforcement, including stereotypes, biases, and lack of representation in leadership positions. Panelists emphasized the need for a cultural shift within organizations to recognize and value the contributions of women.

  3. Enriching INTERPOL: The webiner explored ways to enhance INTERPOL's efforts in promoting gender equality and women's empowerment. Panelist suggested the development of targeted training programs, the creation of a women's network, and the establishment of a gender equality policy.

  4. Connection and Growth: The conversation emphasized the importance of building connections and fostering growth among women in law enforcement. Panelists shared personal stories of resilience and perseverance, highlighting the need for a supportive community that encourages women to pursue their goals.
