SADC Member State conducted KUTWA Operation

INTERPOL Regional Bureau Harare in collaboration with the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) coordinated Operation KUTWA which was conducted simulteniously by the Member States from 14 to 16 August 2024.

The objective of the operation was to enhance inter-agency collabotaion, gather intelligence on cross border criminal syndicates, locate, identify, arrest and subsequently prosecute criminals involved in transnational organised crime in Southern Africa.

Prior to deployment for the operation, officers received a training on how to query INTERPOL Mobile Devices for screening persons, travel documents and motor vehicles.

The operation was a huge success resulting from numerous interceptions of assorted contrabands and arrests of criminals linked to the seizures.
