INTERPOL Secretary General’s visit to South Africa

The National Commissioner of the South African Police Service (SAPS), General Fannie Masemola hosted the INTERPOL Secretary General (IPSG), Dr Jürgen Stock and the INTERPOL General Secretariat delegation on an official visit to South Africa from 24 to 25 July 2024.
The purpose of the visit by the INTERPOL Secretary General, was to monitor progress made by South Africa on preventing and combating transnational organised crime through information sharing. The visit also aimed to monitor modernisation of National Central Bureau Pretoria.

The Head of INTERPOL Regional Bureau for Southern Africa Mr. Sello Moerane (second from left in front row), as well as Directors General and representatives within the Security Cluster also attended the event, including Special Investigating Unit (SIU), the Border Management Authority (BMA) and Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC).
